Kailey Boberg is 12 years old and has been a member of the Eden Livestock 4-H club for 2 years. Some hobbies and interests include: volleyball, anything horsey, diamond art, animals and other 4-H projects like, Beef Breeding, Working Ranch Horse.

This year, they are offering for sale, Oreo, a Hampshire cross Gilt. Oreo was purchased from Ronald Vanek, Vanek Ranch. Oreo was born on January 5, 2020 with a starting weight of 75lbs, average daily gain of 1.9 to finish at 250.

Here's what Kailey Boberg has to say about Oreo:

This is my first year raising a market hog. My pig's name is Oreo. She is a black and white gilt. I purchased her from a local breeder with a good reputation. She is a Hampshire cross. I do not have a pig pen at my house yet, so for this first year I kept Oreo at my friend and neighbor's house. I go there daily to feed, water, and clean her pen. Champion Hog Feed Program. I walk and bathe Oreo on regular basis to get her show ready. She has large hams and a long, straight back. Oreo has great depth and excellent muscling throughout. She has gained very well and is filling out and finishing nicely. I have learned a lot about the care and responsibility of a market project this year. I have gained an understanding of feeding a market hog to finishing weight. I acquired knowledge of animal health practices as I doctored my pig for parasites. I have had fun training Oreo to show and to direct her where I want her to go. This works most of the time except when it's hot and she wants to roll in the mud by the creek. I have enjoyed learning about the cuts of meat that a hog produces and how to cook them. My favorites are bacon and pork chops! Oreo will make a tasty addition to your table.

Thank you for your consideration and support of 4-H!
